Our Story

This is where Banyu begins.

There is no us. It’s just me.

But there was someone else at the beginning of this story.

For the past few years, I’ve been traveling around the world, slowly moving from place to place, trying to understand the kind of life I wanted to build.

Somewhere along the way, I arrived in Indonesia. And I fell in love with it.

The culture, the rhythm of everyday life, the connection people have with nature.

I was also fascinated by the way artisans work with their hands — shaping stone and metal with patience, turning simple materials into something meaningful.

But my days there often started somewhere else: out on the water.

There was a local guy who used to take us surfing on his small wooden boat.

Early mornings, the ocean still quiet, heading toward waves that felt a little bit removed from the world.

Those moments stayed with me.

When I eventually left Indonesia, I carried something back with me.

Not just memories, but the feeling that I wanted to build something of my own — a project where I could express myself through a brand and combine part of who I am with 925 silver jewelry.

For many years photography had been my way of expressing what I see and feel.

But over time I started wanting to explore a different form of expression — creating objects, shaping ideas, building a concept around them.

That’s how this project slowly started.

Banyu was built step by step, from the ground up.

Each piece is thought through carefully, inspired by nature and by a simple way of living.

The brand is a reflection of what inspires me: the ocean, traveling, and the balance between calm and adventure.

A warm, positive and authentic spirit.

Natural materials, quiet textures, and a coastal feeling that doesn’t need to say “beach” to feel close to the water.

When the time came to choose a name, I honestly didn’t know what to call it.

I knew I wanted something connected to the roots of the idea — Indonesia, the ocean, nature.

So I started searching.

And then I found a word that felt strangely familiar.

Banyu.

In Indonesian, Banyu means water.

And I realized I had heard that word many times before — without really noticing.

Because the guy who used to take us surfing every morning on that small boat in Indonesia…

His name was Banyu.

Why Banyu

Banyu means water in Indonesian.

The ocean has always been a big part of my life.
Traveling through Indonesia only deepened that connection.

And somehow, the name had been there all along.

The person who used to take us surfing every morning on his small boat…

His name was Banyu.
